Chicago Mayor Lightfoot finally admits Chicago has a problem with violent crime. The Mayor is calling on AG Merrick Garland to help the city that she helped destroy.
Some may remember when President Trump was in office; she refused to receive help from the Trump administration and allowed Chicago to become one of the most dangerous cities to live in the nation. Mayor Lightfoot has now changed her tune a bit.
“The flow of illegal guns over our borders continues to be a problem,” she said during a news conference. “The federal government remains uniquely qualified to help cities like Chicago address the scourge of gun violence.”
In an interview with CBSLA this week, head of LA Police Protective League Jamie McBride said the quiet part out loud.
“My message to anyone thinking about coming to Los Angeles, especially during the holiday season, is don’t,” Jamie McBride, the head of the LA Police Protective League, the union representing LAPD officers, said in a television interview.
“We can’t guarantee your safety. It is really, really out of control. I said it to people before, it’s like that movie ‘Purge,’ you know, instead of 24 hours to commit your crime, these people have 365 days days to commit whatever they want,” McBride said.
You can add Los Angeles to a long list of Democratically cities that have been ridden with violence. When you have the head of LA Police stating that you should not come to LA for the holidays and compares the conditions to the movie “the purge.” then you know this crime is out of control. Yet the lefty liberal media will turn a blind eye to the surging crime waves in cities like LA, NY, and Chicago probably because they fear conservatives will point out that Democrats sided with “defund the police” groups for two years straight. In short, the reason why you will only hear about rising crime in these cities in local news outlets is that it would hurt their political bottom line. They would instead rather criminals destroy their cities than admit they may need to rethink their political ideology.
