Fox 5 Atlanta reports people in the local area reported hearing a loud boom on Wednesday morning.

Law enforcement is investigating who is responsible for destroying the guide stones.

The Georgia Guidestones have been a very controversial monument in Georgia since 1980, when it was first erected. Embedded in the Guidestones was the message to the elites to keep the population under five hundred million. The famous quote has been circling the truther movement for years. While it is not clear if this was the reasoning behind the Guidestones' demolition, many on social media reacted, celebrating the demise of one of the most controversial monuments in the US.
