In 2022, Walmarts self-driving technology partner Gatik launched the first electric Automated trucks. On Tuesday, Gatik reached a new milestone when they removed the safety operator, becoming the country's first self-driving trucks.

According to YAHOO news, Aurora is looking to ease the shortage in the trucking industry. If companies such as Aurora and Gatik are successful, it could change the industry forever. Many have scoffed at the idea that self-driving could ever replace human drivers. But the facts remain that the goal is to do just that. And the technology is here.
